On Wednesday’s Backchat, we looked at the police’s decision to issue new electronic penalty tickets for illegal parking and speeding offences from June 15.

The force said under the new arrangement, drivers or vehicle owners will receive penalty notices via SMS or email. We spoke to a senior officer to find out what prompted the change and how the new system works.

Meanwhile, the International Healthcare Week, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), has kicked off. This year’s event includes a new Silver Health Chapter to respond to challenges posed by an ageing population and emerging investment opportunities in the silver economy.

After the break, we learned more about uneaten inflight meals that are being redistributed to underprivileged communities. We spoke to Hong Kong’s flagship carrier Cathay Pacific, and charity group Feeding Hong Kong, as they recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of their partnership.
